I am a recent graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where I majored in journalism and minored in psychology. In addition to journalism, I have a passion for and experience in portrait photography and photojournalism. I have interned for The Borgen Project, a non-profit that advocates for legislation aimed at eliminating poverty, Avant-Y News, a web-based publication that provides actionable news to Atlanta's youth, and The Kitsap Sun, Kitsap County's largest daily newspaper.
I possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to find even the smallest errors in text. I am trained in AP style. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in short periods of time. I have strong interpersonal skills and work well with a wide variety of people, making for insightful interviews and source connections.
I am looking for an opportunity to work with a team that aims to use the power of written word and photos in order to raise awareness and create societal change and/or to reestablish local news as an essential public service. I want to learn from professionals in the journalism field and continue to improve my journalistic skills. I am always looking to challenge myself by taking on difficult stories and interviews.
